no. 69

gui fei mei ren (aged 2016)

The tea equivalent of a Wan Kar Wei film, Gui Fei is a ravishing 1960s-style Taiwanese oolong that seduces with a languid elegance. Voluptuous notes of honey and ripe stone fruit embrace a tree nut floral finish tinged with burnt sugar. The tea's opulent nuances are dependent upon the biodynamic interrelationship of madame camellia sinensis and her opportunistic paramour, the leaf hopper insect.
