Where does Bellocq source tea?

We source our teas from the finest tea producers around the world. We source from the top tea-producing nations of China, Taiwan, Japan, India, and Sri Lanka as well as Nepal, Vietnam, Malawi and South Africa.

Where are your teas blended?

Our team blends all of our teas by hand in small batch quantities at our Brooklyn Atelier.

What makes Bellocq different from other tea companies?

The quality of our teas is the most important factor. The teas and herbs used in our blends are selected for their high grades, specific origins, freshness, natural flavors, and appearance. We work to push every element of our tea blends to the forefront of their flavor profiles.

Beyond the quality of the tea itself, we package our teas by hand, with care, to ensure it makes its happy way to you safely. From our beautiful and simple Atelier Bags to the elegant Traveler and Connoisseur Caddies, designed by our Bellocq partners and handmade exclusively for Bellocq, we strive to create packages that are airtight and as seductive as the tea inside.

Are your teas organic?

We source organic ingredients whenever possible. All of our signature blends are organic and the majority of our pure teas are as well.

How much will one ounce of tea make?

One ounce of tea makes approximately 12 cups of tea. It’s important to note all of our teas are full leaf and can be brewed for several infusions.

How long does your tea stay fresh?

To maximize freshness, all of our tea is blended in small batch quantities. Although tea does not go bad, it does become stale over time. We generally recommend drinking any of our teas within one year of purchase. Once the teas have been opened it is best to consume them within a few months. Be sure to keep the teas airtight, dry, and out of direct sunlight.

What kind of packaging does your tea come in?

Each tea's individual web page covers the various types of packaging available. Atelier Bags, Bellocq Boxes, Traveler Caddies, and Connoisseur Caddies are available, but not all teas are available in all packages.

What are your shop's hours?

Our Brooklyn Atelier is open to the public Wednesday-Thursday 12-6, Friday-Saturday 12-7, & Sunday 12-6.  Masks are required, thank you. For your convenience, we also offer 'Curbside Pickup' Monday-Sunday 12-5:30pm.
