The style is Banko yaki (banko ware), which is made from a unique reddish-brown clay, rich in iron. The combination of unique clay, traditional craftsmanship, and functional design makes Banko yaki a distinctive and cherished style of Japanese pottery. (Throwing caution to the wind, we utilized the pot for a pretty Ikebana moment - because we are rebels at heart.)
