Grab your rebenque and poncho, and sip from a traditional gourd and bombilla and imagine yourself exploring the Pampas. Yerba mate is part of the holly family and contains less caffeine than coffee, and slightly more than traditional tea.

For Teapot:
Brewing Instructions for Mate Gourd: Remember to cure your gourd according to manufacturer's instructions, or learn how to here. To brew, fill gourd 2/3 full with loose mate leaves. Add a small amount of cold water to moisten leaves, and gently stir. Next, bring fresh, cold spring water to a boil, let cool to 150ºF/66ºC, and pour over leaves to cover. Allow mate to brew for 1-2 minutes, and enjoy. Refill gourd with water as necessary. Avoid stirring the mate with your bombilla, as that can clog it.
