A delightful organic first flush, or shincha, from deep within Shizuoka, Japan. Mr. Konishi, the charming creator of this tea, has delighted us with this elegant, green tea created from the Harimidori cultivar which is shaded during the last two weeks before harvest, a technique that brings out more of the essential oils and flavors that the leaf naturally yields. (This tea is very similar to a gyokuro, which is also shaded.)

Harmumidori roughly translates to 'spring green' which is illustrated in its rich leaf color. It is a cross between the Yabukita and Kanayamidori cultivars.  Balanced and elegant, the leaf exudes notes of umami with clean, delicate floral/green and marine notes.
