About No. 43, Assam Chota Tingrai (TGFOP)

Assam is lush and low-lying, a place where the Brahmaputra River spills across floodplains and the monsoon hangs heavy in the air. The soil is deep and loamy, rich with sediment washed down from the Himalayas, and the intense heat, thick, almost breathless, gives the tea a boldness you can taste. There’s a brooding intensity to it all: misty mornings, torrential rains, and a vitality in the air that feels almost alive. It’s no wonder the tea here is dark, malty, and strong—a reflection of the land itself.

A very fine organic Indian black teas, this remarkable, full-bodied Assam yields a clean and toasty earthen profile with unctuous notes of salted caramel, cacao and a delicate suggestion of toasted walnut. This deeply satisfying tea enjoys a long, smooth finish.
