no. 25

green kukicha (karigane)

Produced with the ichibancha (or the "first plucking") of organic Kabuse Sencha, this tea more than makes up for its simple appearance with its heady aroma and flavor. Better than many senchas we have cupped, this "twig tea" compliments its rich, buttery taste with equally balanced fruit and floral notes. Additionally, kukicha is lower in caffeine than traditional leaf teas.
