Classic and enduring, this tall, black side-handled traditional kyusu was created in Tokoname, an area which is home to one of the six old kiln areas in Japan. There is said to be over 3000 ancient kilns sites along the Chita peninsula. Although Tokoname crafts several types of pottery, they are most famous for their kyusu tea pots. The fine clay, unique to the area, allows for very refined details and intricate surface carving.
