TEA "The craftmanship of Tea is an art form in itself." says Michael Shannon, one of three New Yorkers who recently opened a tea atelier on London's King's Road. At Bellocq they have taken tea blending to another level, creating teas that taste as delicious as they look. Their latest blend, Charleston is infused with camomile, rose petals, linen flowers, rose geranium and poppies. It was inspired by a recent trip to the garden of Charleston farmhouse, once the countryside retreat of the Bloomsbury group.
The first thing that hits you upon entering Bellocq is the beauty of the premises. Housed in a corner of a former antiques market, it has made the most of its location by playing up the vintage vibe. Golden yellow canisters line the dark walls, a subtle scent of flowers fills the air and the large glass-fronted shop counter houses all kinds of tea-drinking paraphernalia.
