no. 119, Huang Mei Gui, Wuyi 'Rock Oolong'

$61.00
Toffee ~ Lilac ~ Mineral ~ Spice

The term 'Rock Tea', or Yancha (yan 'rock' cha 'tea') refers to oolong teas from the Wuyi Mountains in Fujian Province. The terrain of this mountainous region is rocky, and the terroir imparts a distinct mineral note to the teas.

Huang Mei Gui is a modern cultivar and cross between Huang Jin Gui (an Anxi oolong) and Huang Dan (a Phoenix 'dan cong' oolong) but processed in the Wuyi tradition. The tea enjoys fruity tropical notes followed by suggestions of lilac, toffee, and allspice.

This tea was grown without pesticides, fertilizers or pesticides.
