Kennin-ji Kyusu

Of the six ancient kiln towns of Japan: Seto, Shigaraki, Echizen, Tanba, and Bizen, Tokoname is the oldest and largest. This elegant kyusu, a fine example of Tokoname ware, sits perfectly balanced in the hand. Elegant detailing reminiscent of the carefully raked sand of karesansui (dry landscape) gardens, brought to mind Kennin-ji, a masterful Zen temple in Kyoto.
