Siro Kohiki Cup

A gently speckled glaze adorns this charmingly faceted tea cup. "Kohiki" is an ancient Japanese glazing technique.  A layer of white powder-clay is applied after biscuit firing the coarse, red clay, then fired a second time before applying a transparent glaze. The result is a subtle grey hue with dark speckles and touches of pink.
