This beautiful, organic, dan cong, wu long tea translates to “Honey Orchid Fragrance”. Expressive suggestions of peach and nectarine give way to rolling waves of honeycomb throughout the long, resonant finish. Light tannins provide pleasant structure throughout the infusion and an uplifting energy is enjoyed over successive cuppings.

The leaves are harvested by hand in April, sun dried, left to rest, shaken and this process is repeated six times. Then they are stir-fried, upon which then they are twisted and kneaded, re-fermented twice, and fired twice. Finally the leaves are oxidized to 30% and roasted repeatedly until the sweet, honey and floral aroma is brought forth. It is known as “Nong Xiang” style. The floral, fruity, and deeply aromatic character of these teas makes them highly desirable.
We source this tea from a small, self-owned garden in Guangdong, China an area famous for it’s spectacular Feng Huang Dan Cong (Phoenix) oolong. Their estate is organic, and visited by wild elephants on occasion, which only adds to the allure.
Brew Mi Lan Xiang multiple times to enjoy the full expression of its leaves.
