Harvested in the first week of March 2021, this exquisite first flush is one of the first pluckings of the season from Rohini Tea Estate, a young and excellent garden nestled in the famous Kurseong Valley in North Darjeeling. This beautifully structured lot of first flush tea, with its tight, twisted leaves of emerald green and downy tips, produces a winsome amber cup (staff notes: spectacular! delightful! off-the-hook!) redolent with generous notes of stone fruit, orchid, and Indian jaggery sugar. Mildly astringent notes of spring greens yield to subtle hints of pepper, and pecan shell.

The manufacturing process is plucking, same-day outdoor withering followed by indoor withering until the following day. Once the leaf is ready the teas are tossed in bamboo drums, followed by fixing, rolling, drying, and finally, the leaves are hand sorted.
