Peace Bell

Mt. Washington Pottery's 'Peace Bells' are formed by hand of porcelain clay with a carved surface in shades of white.  Strung on a waxed hemp cord together with handmade clay beads, the handmade process renders each bell as one of a kind and unique, no two pieces are alike.

About Peace Bell

Mt. Washington Pottery's 'Peace Bells' are formed by hand of porcelain clay with a carved surface in shades of white. Strung on a waxed hemp cord together with handmade clay beads, the handmade process renders each bell as one of a kind and unique, no two pieces are alike. Appropriate for indoor and covered outdoor use. The hemp cord will eventually deteriorate if exposed directly to the elements (sun and rain).

Beth Katz is the creative force behind Mt. Washington Pottery, an heirloom quality collection of functional and decorative ceramics.

The 1970’s hippie enclave of Los Angeles’ Topanga Canyon is where Beth grew up and was introduced to the art of ceramics.  The freedom of her childhood, the diverse and wild Southern California landscape, her experiences in fashion and commercial design combined with the ethos of traditional Japanese and modern Scandinavian design, culminate in the organic elegant simplicity that is Beth’s work.

Due to the nature of ceramic materials pieces may vary in color. As each piece is made by hand slight imperfections do occur but is part of the beauty of a unique object.
